“Hands down the best dinner spot in Wicker Park. This is my go to restaurant in the neighborhood for date night and when we have family or friends visit. The food is consistently incredible and absolutely delicious. ☺️”

“Food is phenomenal! We shared 5 dishes. The atmosphere and music hits the spot and the servers are helpful, fun, and sassy in the best way! Highly recommend.”

“Wow what an amazing spot for dinner! Our food was amazing but truthfully our server Paola was even better. This spot was such a vibe and we will definitely be coming back. The happy hour was amazing. As a Brazilian person, I can say without a doubt this is the best spot for a caipirinha. The Inca salad and coconut fried rice are a must. The Cuban oxtail pasta is also amazing. We wish the ceviche had a little more punch in terms of flavor but that was truly the only slight complaint we had. We will definitely be coming back!”

“My husband and I were looking for a place in Chicago with authentic Latin flavors and we found it in Amaru They do have very good cocktails! And we enjoy the vibe of the place . We absolutely loved our appetizer—we ordered the piononos, and they were phenomenal. Everything was delicious from start to finish. Our main was the churrasco with chimichurri, with a side of coconut rice was so tasty . If you’re looking for amazing Latin flavors, you can find them at Amaru! Estábamos buscando con mi esposo un lugar en Chicago que tuviera sabores Latinos. Nos encantó nuestra entrada , ordenamos piononos y fueron fenomenales , en realidad todo fue delicioso de principio a fin . Ricos sabores Latinos puedes encontrar en Amaru !”

“My bf and I went for dinner on a rainy day. The restaurant was a bit quiet at the time, but the server was incredibly nice 👍 truly excellent service; I honestly haven't experienced anything quite like it, even at high-end establishments. She took the time to explain each dish and offered us recommendations. The food itself was delicious and perfectly suited my palate. The portion sizes were moderate not overly large, but certainly enough to leave us feeling satisfied.”

“The deviled eggs are a must try if doing brunch! Fantastic service (Omar at the bar, Crystal - the maitre d’ and the manager, Linda!) and delicious food. Will be back soon!”

“Believe ALL the hype. Amaru is definitely delicious and welcoming. It was my birthday during a difficult time and they were very nice. They even found a candle for me to make a wish. The food was shareable but you almost don't want to because the flavors are that good. That oxtail and cheesecake are unmatched. I can't wait to come back when I visit Chicago.”

“Service was impeccable! Bartender Krys was fantastic! Food was on point!!”

“Had a phenomenal time at Amaru for Restaurant Week. From the time I hit the door the playlist was literally music to my ears with smooth R&B and Old School Hip-Hop. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and seated immediately while I waited for my guest. My server, Paola, was a beam of energy and light (and a good dancer too). She offered me a cocktail flight of daiquiri, margarita and Mama Juana...they were each equally delicious. Next came the 4 courses including ceviche, oxtail and rice, corn cake and chocolate tree leches. I will definitely be back again and hope Paola will be my server.”

“Holy smokes, so good! Came in for restaurant week and will for sure be back. Get the bacon wrapped plantains and the lomo steak, both incredible! I don't remember it's name but the whiskey drink with a sweet and cinnamon touch was my favorite of the two I tried, also would recommend.”
