Bobijoa Korean Kitchen — dependable korean in Pilsen. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. "The kimchi was the perfect amount of tangy, and the spicy cold noodle had a perfect kick + rich sesame flavor" — Emily

Dry and flavorless rice cake. Only way to describe it is ramen juice soaked rice cakes.
Overcooked and dry as hell bulgogi.
This was the worst experience ever and I am very weary of not eating at new gentrifying restaurants in Pilsen since I grew up here all my life.

“Fried chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce was very good, not too spicy.”
Fried chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce was very good, not too spicy. Kimchi fried rice was also very good, although a lot of rice. Dumplings are good as well. Chill lowkey atmosphere

“This place was exceptional.”
This place was exceptional! We ordered the jjambong and KFC. As a Korean, jjambong is one of my favorite dishes, and this place nailed it. The soup had a perfect combination of flavors with pork and shrimp, and the abundance of veggies made it even better. Plus, the noodles were freshly cooked, adding to the overall experience. The KFC was also fantastic; it tasted just like what we have in Korea! It had a delightful spiciness balanced with a delicious sweet flavor from the gochujang sauce—a flavor reminiscent of my childhood. The atmosphere was very chill, and the restaurant was bustling with people since it's Friday. Everyone was respectful of each other's time and space, enhancing our dining experience. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the ambiance of this place.

“Tldr: KFC is delicious, would recommend giving this restaurant a try.”
Tldr: KFC is delicious, would recommend giving this restaurant a try! This restaurant is 90% self-serve so I don't think you need to tip (or you don't need to tip a lot). The restaurant is very spacious, clean, lots of seats. It has a couple of seating to look out to the street which I like. Here are what I ordered: - Jjajangmyeon with a fried egg: good but it lacks the black bean flavor I was expecting. - Korean Fried Chicken (sweet and spicy): yummy! Great flavor and crispy!! It's not spicy though.

“Some of the tastiest Korean food on this side of Chicago.”
Some of the tastiest Korean food on this side of Chicago! The soondubu jjigae is salty and spicy with a fresh tasting broth. The gimbap was also super fresh and balanced. The kimchi was the perfect amount of tangy, and the spicy cold noodle had a perfect kick + rich sesame flavor. The service here is also very fast. Highly recommend ending your meal with a hotteok (Korean fried pancake stuffed with a beautiful brown sugar syrup). Can’t wait to come here all the time :)

“I’ve been a few times and have tried the tteokboki and bulgogi bap - let’s just say I’m addicted now.”
I’ve been a few times and have tried the tteokboki and bulgogi bap - let’s just say I’m addicted now. Great atmosphere and solid food. It’s a Korean-American fusion restaurant, so don’t expect KBBQ vibes. It’s casual with solid flavors. Came back and tried the burger and honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in Chicago. No one was more surprised than me, but will also be back for that.
