“We have visited Prosecco several times before and have always really enjoyed it. The ambiance is beautiful, and on previous occasions the service had been excellent. This time, we visited as a group of eight to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. We decided to order a few appetizers to share. Two of my friends ordered a salad, scallops, and a pasta to split between them. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding when the order was placed, because two orders of scallops were brought to the table instead of one. My friends clarified to the server that they had only intended to order one scallop dish to share. The server took one plate back, and about a minute or two later returned and asked the rest of us if we would like some scallops to share. Since the extra dish appeared to be the result of a misunderstanding, we assumed it was being offered as a courtesy from the restaurant and agreed to take it. Aside from this situation, the food quality was excellent as always, and the rest of the service was good. We shared bread and birthday cake as well, and overall the evening was enjoyable. However, when the bill arrived, we noticed that we had been charged for both additional scallop dishes. We were surprised, as we had not ordered the extra scallops and had assumed they were being offered as a courtesy due to the confusion. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I understand that mistakes can happen. However, in my experience, situations like this are often handled by offering the extra dish as a courtesy, especially when it results from a misunderstanding in the order. Unfortunately, this situation left us feeling somewhat disappointed with how it was handled. We still appreciate the restaurant and the quality of the food, but we hope this feedback helps improve the communication and service experience in the future.”

“In all honesty, the best thing I tried was the veal, but I don’t get a picture because I ate it so quickly. The meatball app was great and so was the chocolate cake. However, the best aspect, in my opinion, was getting the round table in the back. I felt like a king.”

“Great service! Pasta was awesome! Dessert was ok Peach burrata is pretty good. Every dish is great. We loved tratufate, fragole, side of rapini, bolongese, frutti di mare, petto di pollo”

“If you want good service, this is still a restaurant that still has a good wait staff. We have had several great, memorable group occasions here and it is recommended for larger groups with reservations”

“Очень вкусный и уютный ресторан . Ризотто просто шикарное . Обязательно вернусь в это заведение”

“The food we were able to try was outstanding—we had the avocado starter, mussels, and white fish, all of which were excellent. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a full meal or dessert due to poor service. Service started off fine but deteriorated as the evening progressed. The staff appeared overwhelmed by the Valentine's Day crowd, and the front-of-house team, including the hostess, seemed flustered. They even lost our coat check tickets. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were asked to wait at the bar, but the lychee martini was disappointing, and the rest of the cocktail menu was unappealing. Once seated, it took over an hour for our appetizer—the avocado starter and mussels—to arrive. Then, as we waited for our entrée, the waiter assured us, "The branzino will be out shortly." Confused, we corrected him, explaining that we had ordered the white fish, not branzino. After that mix-up, we had to wait another hour for the correct dish. When it finally arrived, the fish was delicious, but we then had to wait another 30 minutes for the pasta—only to receive the wrong order. We had requested shrimp pasta but were instead given a mushroom dish. Meanwhile, we noticed that a couple who had arrived after us was able to place their order without any issues and received their food promptly. When we pointed out our incorrect pasta order, the waiter told us it was too late to place another order since the kitchen was closing. Instead of offering a solution, he simply left the incorrect dish at our table and suggested we eat it anyway. As a consolation, he brought us a glass of limoncello, which was unfortunately just as disappointing. Frustrated and still hungry, we ended up leaving and grabbing pizza on the way home. That said, the food we did get to try was excellent, so we’re willing to give the restaurant another chance. Hopefully, service will be better on a less busy night.”
“One of my favorite Italian spots in the U.S. is Prosecco. It’s a must-stop every time I’m in Chicago. The staff is always welcoming, the food is consistently great, but honestly… it’s the vibe that keeps me coming back. The owner, Mark, is usually walking the floor, checking in on guests, and making sure everyone feels taken care of. That kind of hospitality stands out. I know Chicago has no shortage of incredible restaurants, but if you’ve got time for one more reservation, this is one I wouldn’t skip.”
“Had an important business dinner there last night for 6 people. The restaurant did an amazing job. Service was great, and the food was even better. Prices also very reasonable. Cannot recommend enough.”
