Wow-What an outdoor gem. The rear outdoor area could be one of the finest in the city. My daughters invited me and it was all our first time and I can’t wait to get back there. The food was incredible and super fresh but the atmosphere might just outshine the food and service. Definitely a must. Also a fantastic happy hour menu.

We had our wedding in the private event space at La Storia, and I truly can’t imagine a more perfect place. We rented the entire upstairs for our intimate 14-person celebration, and from start to finish, it was absolute magic. Working with Slav, the general manager, was a dream. He made the planning process so easy and enjoyable. He genuinely cared about every little detail. From curating the perfect menu, to helping us select the wines, to coordinating with our baker for the cake delivery, he handled it all seamlessly and with such care. The space itself is stunning, warm, and inviting—ideal for a cozy yet elegant gathering. And the staff? Absolutely incredible. They made us feel celebrated and completely taken care of, like we were the only event that mattered. And the food… don’t even get me started. Hands-down the best lasagna I’ve ever had (and I don’t say that lightly). Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend La Storia for your next private event—or even just a dinner out. It’s a truly special place with phenomenal food and a team that goes above and beyond.

A phenomenal experience at this restaurant! The staff is incredibly welcoming, and I had the pleasure of meeting the management – wonderful people who truly care about their guests. The food was exceptional! For the appetizer, we had octopus and calamari, which were perfectly prepared. I had the risotto, my friend enjoyed the pasta, and we were both delighted. For dessert, we had a delicious tiramisu and an amazing apple cake with ice cream on top – the perfect sweet ending! I highly recommend this place – great atmosphere, outstanding food, and excellent service!

we just happened to stumble upon this gem. OMG amazing in every sense. First of all, like I said we stumbled upon it and decided to pop in at 4pm (amazlng HH) and Mike the GM offered us a tour of the place, which was steep in Chicago history. With every step he had a story/history related (which we loved). Seated at the romantic bar w Jessica as bartender, we were delivered the most amazing Espresso martini w a smile and wonderful HH bites. This truly is a gem!!!

Really awesome spot both inside and on the back patio. Service was fantastic and super quick/attentive. Our waitress was very good. The inside is really nice and was perfect for a hot day or cold night and the back patio is amazing. Food was very good, the pasta was fresh and sauce was great. My dates lasagna was decent not exceptional by any means, a 4/5. My dish the Tagliatelle alla bolognese was fantastic. An easy 9.4/10. The espresso trip to finish with a port hit the spot and both were fantastic. Excited to come back.

My work colleague is Italian is based i Chicago and he swear by the food. And he was 10000% right. It’s so good. Pasta a vibe, appetizer a delight and service absolutely fab. I didn’t take images of everything, it’s a great place. Highly recommend.

Our party of 5 enjoyed the back enclosed patio. Appetizers of Torta de Grancho( very small,) Polpette cheese were shared . I had the Orecchiette Pugliese which was quite tasty. Overall. Bring your wallet. Parking was on the street.

“Some of the most authentic Italian I’ve had in Chicago.”

Some of the most authentic Italian I’ve had in Chicago. The service was a little slow but our server was super knowledgable and recommended his personal favourites. We started with the Burrata and Torta di Granchio (crab cakes) which were both delicious, couldn’t get enough of the red pepper and basil aioli. We both decided on the Rigatoni with the lamb ragu which was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. I’ve been to Italy many time over the years and can recognise an authentically made pasta pretty well and the pasta at La Storia ticked all my boxes. For dessert we both had the tiramisu and they don’t mess you around with portion sizes. I hate when you get a tiny little cube but here you get a brick of tiramisu which I welcome with open arms and a full stomach. Will 100% be back this spring to enjoy the Chicago sun and more delicious food at La Storia.

*Update to 07/23- this restaurant maintains a great experience and food. We had orecchiette allá pugliese, just divine! As always great service, we love the waiter, he is always so nice. Environment is excellent. Truly Italian experience all the way around. We sat in the back patio. **Great experience! We have been here twice, dinner and brunch. Decent prices and good food. Very distinct from other Italian restaurants. Dinner was amazing service was very good. Brunch menu is great. We asked for prosciutto side which wasn’t on the menu and we got it. So, you can always ask. Flavors are so fresh and natural. Nice to have different type of vegetables than the usual, natural bursting flavors. Thank you chef! Service and environment is great. We were very satisfied. Will definitely go back.
