This is my favorite steak house in Chicago! Sure they maybe fancier spots with crazy dry aged beef (not a fan), but the place hits.

First time here ... amazing food!! Antonio (our server) was great!! Loved it all ... husband said the prime rib was the BEST he's had in Chicago!!! The Vesuvio potatoes had WAY too much garlic for us but everything else was FAB!!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here. Can’t wait to return to try their bone-in ribeye. Had a very loud and table with a few obnoxious people that were very loud. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

Incredible food and ambience. The waiters were attentive to detail, kind, and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. Everyone truly enjoyed their drinks and their meal. It was a wonderful addition to our visit to Chicago and the Society meeting. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Visiting Chicago without stopping here would be missing a true icon. Our server Jordy was wonderful — attentive, professional, and spot-on with his recommendations. Absolutely worth the experience.

We had a wonderful experience—everything from the atmosphere to the service was excellent. The food was outstanding; we ordered plenty of shrimp, steak, and sides, and loved every bite. It’s truly a perfect spot for a date night when visiting the city.

Hungry? No prob - G&G will provide! Large plates and sooooo good. Celebrated our anniversary and split a Tommy with brussels and a few glasses of wine. Unfortunately, I had no room for dessert, but I'm sure I'll be a repeat guest. For me, the only negative was the decor - I understand the restaurant has been open for +60yrs, but it can be remodeled with updated decor to still fit the old-school vibe without looking "old".

My husband and I were exploring Chicago on foot when we stumbled across Gene & Georgetti—a serendipitous find that turned into the highlight of our Father’s Day evening. What first caught our eye were the charming sidewalk tables surrounded by beautifully tended flowers. There was a warmth and care in the ambiance that drew us in before we even glanced at the menu. Inside, the restaurant exuded old-school Italian charm with dark wood interiors, vintage memorabilia, and photographs of the iconic figures who’d dined there over the years. It felt like stepping into a timeless scene where every detail had a story. We were lucky to be seated upstairs in a room filled with the sounds of clinking glasses, conversation, and laughter. Joey, our server, went above and beyond—his menu recommendations were perfect, and he made us feel genuinely cared for. We shared a crisp Caesar salad, then indulged in the handmade stuffed pasta and classic spaghetti, both of which were beautifully done. It was comfort food elevated by tradition, skill, and love. Gene & Georgetti isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience filled with character, hospitality, and the kind of old-world- filled with Amore! Highly recommended for couples or small groups who appreciate timeless atmosphere, impeccable service, and food that warms the soul. We will definitely be back!
