Carmine's — clean, consistent italian in Gold Coast. Order the tiramisu. Old-school in the best sense, with zero pretense. "The best was the entree, the New York strip steak, which was perfectly cooked" — Alex

“) We've tried it, and I think that was the best carrot cake in the area”
I recently dined here and was UNFORTUNATELY \ disappointed with the service provided by the SERVER.
The atmosphere was very nice and inviting. However, that is probably the only positive I can give to this restaurant.
Unfortunately I can't give this restaurant more than two stars. The service was pretty good.

“Carmine's is a fabulous Italian restaurant.”
Carmine's is a fabulous Italian restaurant! The restaurant has a really cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the food is absolutely delicious. Stopped in for Chicago Restaurant Week and everything we tried was incredible! Not to mention, the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly—truly the icing on the cake! Carmine's is definitely a must-visit spot next time you're in Chicago.

“We had the sausage & peppers, calamari and veggies platter and all were amazing.”
We had the sausage & peppers, calamari and veggies platter and all were amazing. Chicken parm was HUGE. Spaghetti & meatballs were also big and the rib eye steak was great. I can see why this needs a renovation but the food is great. The staff is attentive & friendly and the valet is quick. Can't wait for next year!

“Really enjoyed this place.”
Really enjoyed this place. Went for restaurant week so the menu was slightly different, but everything we had was delicious. The best was the entree, the New York strip steak, which was perfectly cooked. Was a really solid steak considering the price. The vodka rigatoni was really good but i don’t think I could eat a whole dish of it. The tiramisu as a dessert was delicious but would try the chocolate cake next time, saw it come out and had like 7 layers. Would absolutely come back.

“We just visited again and Scott was our server.”
We just visited again and Scott was our server. He was engaged, funny, and offered up great recommendations! We'll be back. Our sever Jay was great. The food was incredible. Large portions and tons of leftovers. The quality of the food, preparation and presentation were all on point. I will return again soon.

“The pork chop lollipops are fantastic.”
The pork chop lollipops are fantastic. Be sure to keep the sauce to dip your bread in. Square noodles with meatballs were also very good. Didn't love the tiramisu, it was a little bit dry but a great place regardless. I would definitely go back.

“First time visiting while attending a business meeting.”
First time visiting while attending a business meeting. My wife and I had the meatball, Italian sausage and lb and it was great! The bread was hot and fresh as well. Coming from Houston, it was great to be able to eat dinner outside!

“Carmines one of the best Italian restaurants in the country.”
Carmines one of the best Italian restaurants in the country. If you’ve never been and your in Chicago this is a must. I had the lamb chops and a sautéed vegetable plate. The plate included eggplant zucchini squash green red yellow pepper onion it was a fabulous you can tell by the photo it was a meal onto itself. The Lamb Chops I could take my fork and pull the lamb from the bone but yeah it had a beautiful light pink center the temperature was perfect. It came in with a crunchy like deep fried potato it was great. My wife had Baked Cavatelli Handmade Ricardo dumplings with shrimp look at the picture. We split a Caesar salad which was fantastic the dressing is perfect. Our server Emily was spot on we never wanted for anything it was a great experience but probably the best thing of all the tiramisu dessert this thing was gigantic look at the picture I got so excited I took a bite out of it before I took the picture The only reason I give them five stars is because they don’t have a six or seven star available

“An old name in a modern city.”
An old name in a modern city. We had a great meal on a Tuesday evening with no wait. Opened with grilled calamari. Steak and Manhattan was a hit and Carbonara and Cavatelli pasta dishes were spot on. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable but not pushy. An older couple who appeared to be regulars came in shortly after us. The valet ran back to their car to fetch a pillow for the woman. Seemed a little like Carmine’s royalty.

“We celebrated our anniversary here during the pandemic.”
We celebrated our anniversary here during the pandemic. They were very careful, the staff was wearing a mask. The food was good and comes in big servings. Mostly good for two servings. The staff was friendly. We love our waiter's suggestion for dessert. (The carrot cake with a glass of milk.) We've tried it, and I think that was the best carrot cake in the area. Located in a prime location on Rush street. The food we ordered was very good too. Try the baked cavatelli if you're a fan of cheese. My hubby got a traditional meat lasagna, It was yummy too. I usually order prosecco for my drink but I've ordered a rose wine this time and I didn't like it. It was a bitter table wine. Hubby got a Moscow mule.
