Went to Avvio for a weekday dinner, my husband and I absolutely loved it! This is a restaurant that has been built with love and intention. The Aperol Spritzes were HUGE and so tasty, also cheap for Chicago at $13 each. They bring out a warm, fresh loaf of bread to start your meal. It's a personal touch that makes the homemade aspect of the place come to life. The pasta was absolutely delicious and definitely homemade. Our server and all of the employees were kind and courteous. We will definitely be back for their Happy Hour deals!!

“Where do I start? This place is amazing.”

Where do I start? This place is amazing. From the atmosphere to the food. You walk in and you feel like you are in a family restaurant. The food is ridiculously awesome. You get the bread, and you can then order pizza bread and an appetizer. The calamari is super tender and greatly flavored. Next is the soup or salad. You cannot go wrong with the stracchietella or minestrone, both are amazing. You can also get a salad! Then here comes the main course. You have to get the veal parmesan. BEST MEAL ON THE MENU. Make sure you get an extra side of the meat sauce. ITS A MUST. 10/10. After you enjoy the best meal of your life, you must get a dessert. A coffee and Bailey's is never a bad choice.

Our server, Lynette, was wonderful! Great cocktails, fantastic entrees, and peppermint ice cream for dessert! The entire staff was welcoming and efficient. Definitely recommend. Definitely will come back again!

The bread before the meal was fresh and really delicious. Each menu item comes with soup and salad. The price is good and the quantity is generous. Plus, every single dish is delicious. There is also Nebbiolo wine. This is a place I would like to visit again.

Drove by Avvio and noticed it had great reviews so we bookmarked it to return. So glad we did… this place is an absolute gem! The space is clean and comfortable with a few bar seats and fairly sizable dining room. Service was fast and friendly… they start you off with a loaf of warm Italian bread some olive oil and parmigiana. We ordered a brown butter scallops, risotto, and roasted pumpkin dish… the presentation was incredible and it tasted fantastic. For the main course we split an egg plan parmigiana… it comes with choice of soup, salad, and a side of pasta, potato, or green beans (we got pasta with meat sauce). Wow what a meal! We’ll be back for more

This was my first time at Avvio. Aside from being a little conversationally challenging our meal was fantastic. Great cocktails,mussels,steak,eggplant,veal,shrimp and of course dessert. Our server and dining room attendant were great! I can't wait to return

Do you like the Olive Garden? If so, avoid this place at ALL COSTS because it will be forever ruined for you. The restaurant was packed and I never had an empty glass of water. An empty plate is never on your table for more than 3 mins. At one point I thought a dish vanished because I never saw our server grab it. The food was delicious. All of this pales in comparison to the star of the night...dessert. If you like ice cream, the Baked Alaska is the best choice.

First visit to this masterful Sabatinos remake. Although nit the historic location, Avvio delivers!! From the traditional cheese bread, minestrone, caeser, not to mention the perfecly cooked al dente homemade pastas, all I can say is wow 😋 YUM 😋! Best Montepaluciano wine 🍷 by the glass highly recommended! Just fantastic! Thank you Avvio team!!

“I was in the mood for Italian.”

I was in the mood for Italian. The atmosphere was welcoming and had a friendly staff. The dining area was a bit dark as it was dinner time, but still could see. Nice dining area. It had a bar too. I ordered takeout. I ordered the egg plant parmigiana and tiramisu. The dinner came with a whole loaf of Italian dinner bread, salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, and soup. I had the minestrone. The food was delicious. The egg plant parmigiana was just right amount of spices in the sauce and cheese. The tiramisu was delicious, and i was able to taste the coffee. Food was good portions. The food was ready under 20 minutes and food was hot.
