Trilokah Kerala and South Indian Restaurant — solid, no-fuss indian in Lincoln Park. A holdout in the best possible way. The kind of cooking that doesn't need to explain itself. Solid veggie options, BYOB. Ann: "I always ask for extra coconut chutney because it’s delicious and their sambar is tangy and not sweet"

“Chattiporrota (5/5)- Excellent flavor, soft parotta and the fried chicken with it was super tender”
Food was subpar, service was fine. I ordered a mango lassi, goat khorma, and garlic naan.
I was really excited to learn that Trilokah was moving in from Mt.
We went there like a 5:30-6pm. The ambience was good. I like the way they kept the place. It was pretty crowded.

“Had an immense craving for Kerala food and a close friend suggested Trilokha.”
Had an immense craving for Kerala food and a close friend suggested Trilokha. Decided to order in since we had some family over. The banana bajjis tasted extremely authentic - like the ones I’ve enjoyed decades earlier in Trivandrum, Kerala. The matta rice and stew were tastefully prepared, although the vegetable stew could use more spice. It was mild, but quite tasty. I got the paladai payassam - also known as ada prathaman. It was pretty decent as well. The quantities are sumptuous and 2 people can easily share. I made sure there was pappadoms (not appalams). In fact, asked for extra pappadums. We got an extremely generous amount.

“If you are craving for some Kerala food, this is the place to be.”
If you are craving for some Kerala food, this is the place to be. The ambience is simple, good staff and service. Here are the dishes we tried: 1. Chattiporrota (5/5)- Excellent flavor, soft parotta and the fried chicken with it was super tender. Highly recommend this dish. 2. Kottayam Style Fish curry- A bit on the spicier end but try it with their Kappa (5/5) soft and flavorful. This is also must. 3. Goat pepper fry- tender goat with bold flavor. 4. Falooda (5/5) - very good Falooda. The parking around the place might be difficult but there is street parking.

“If you’re craving authentic Kerala cuisine in Chicago, Trilokah is an absolute must visit.”
If you’re craving authentic Kerala cuisine in Chicago, Trilokah is an absolute must visit! We tried the Kizhi Parotta, which was simply fantastic, rich, flavorful, and true to the Kerala taste. My wife had an omelette and a plate of idly, both cooked to perfection and carrying that comforting, homely flavor. To top it off, the salted lemon soda was the perfect refreshing drink to balance the spices. The restaurant has a warm and cozy vibe, and one corner especially reminded us of scenes from the movie Ustad Hotel. It’s not just about the food, the ambience really adds to the experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. We noticed a steady crowd coming in, so you might need to wait a little before being seated, but trust me, the food is absolutely worth it. Clearly, this place has already earned a spot as a local favorite in the city! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Overall: Delicious Kerala food, great atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. Can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu. Highly recommended! 💯

“I’m from Kerala and have traveled to almost every state in the US—and wherever I go, I’m always on...”
I’m from Kerala and have traveled to almost every state in the US—and wherever I go, I’m always on the lookout for Indian food, especially Kerala cuisine. Thriloka in Chicago is easily one of the best I’ve come across. The service is friendly, the vibe is cozy, and the food is just spot-on. If you’re tired of the usual butter chicken, tikka masala, and naan type of menu, this is where you’ll find something truly different and authentic. I normally don’t leave reviews—good or bad—but I felt like this one deserved a shoutout. Places like Thriloka don’t always get the recognition they should. Since moving here, I’ve tried their neychor with beef, pothichoru, pazhampori, Sharjah shake, and Thalassery dum biriyani. Every single dish brought back a piece of home. If I’m anywhere near the area, I’ll definitely be stopping by again.
