“Delicious Food! Felt very homey, excellent service they were all really nice. I only took a picture of my food but my husband had a torta de milanesa and loved it so much! Would definitely recommend for good authentic Mexican food in the area.”

“This is absolutely my favorite family owned and operated Mexican restaurant. I visit at least twice a week and the food is always fresh to order and the owners Paco, Sarah and Allen are always nice to me. The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting and they always have new things for me to try. My favorite dish is the Steak Taco dinner. They have a mango flavored water I love to order with my meal. I give this restaurant 5 stars and recommend everyone give them a try. You will not be disappointed.”

“We live in Northern California. While working in Chicago for over a month, we have searched to find good Mexican food that was priced fairly (unlike the pricing in our neighborhood; downtown Magnificent Mile area). While Google searching, we found El Comandante Azteca and all we can say is, "WOW". The service was excellent and the food was beyond our expectations. The complimentary fried/hot chips, home made sauces (orange, red and green), and home made pickled carrots, peppers, and cauliflower tops other restaurants. The food is delicious, authentic and large in portion size. GIVE IT A TRY; DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF!”

“quaint family operated restaurant with yummy no frills mexican food. a good ol reliable.”

“One of the gems 💎 in the back of the yard neighborhood for Mexican food . Big burrito 🌯 for sure would be satisfying meal for many check this people out 💯”

“Love this place, newly opened up recently and it's right across from my job and decided to give it a chance ever since then I have been a regular customer here with them knowing who I am now, very respectful and friendly people, very wonderful food alongside the diversity of the food choices included in this place. The food it's always great and although it isn't perfect they work with the customers to ask what to provide and provide better even the next time I recommend this for anyone interested in tacos or even anything Mexico food that would brighten there day”

“Mom and pop family restaurant is the vibe you get when entering. That's how you know the food is going to be good! Here for the first time and I ordered 1 taco de asada, rice, beans, and guacamole with chips to go. The lady who taken my ordered recommended the taco dinner which was almost the cost of all that I ordered and was willing to substitute the ensalada for my guacamole. (thanks to my diet I declined 🤭😒) but I can say everything was good! The meat was nicely seasoned (maybe a little less pepper)and tender! Beans/rice tasted how I would make them at home. Guacamole was simple and spicy. There were no tomatoes which would have in my opinion balanced out the heat. The chips were a little oily and became soggy. Overall everything was tasty! I will definitely be back to dine in and try something different from the menu!”
