The Fish Keg — a food spot in Rogers Park. It wears its years well. Cocktails here aren't an afterthought. Rajesh Kurra: "The shrimp were well seasoned and a little over battered" [$$]

The KEG, like, this place keeps being the same. Amazing. For myself since 1968, 4th grade. Fried Perch is still the same.

I came at 10:05 AM on Saturday. I was pretty excited to try this place. It’s a shame that this is a common experience for little spots like this anymore.

Drove out from Naperville, spent $66.40 for 2lbs of shrimp and 1/2kb of hush puppies and EVERYTHING was burnt!!! Absolutely disgusting—don’t waste your money!

Stopped by The Fish Keg today and had a great experience. The place has a classic, old-school charm that makes it feel like a local favorite. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I tried the fish fry, and it was fresh, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The seafood selection looked impressive, with plenty of options available. Everything tasted homemade and high quality. The portions were generous, and the food was prepared fresh to order. If you’re looking for authentic fried fish, shrimp, chicken, or seafood, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. A hidden gem with great food, fair prices, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll be back again! Highly recommended!

There is no place in greater Chicago land with fish as fresh as this place it tastes like it just came out of the lake a moment to go there is no sit-down dining but you get served up in about 2 minutes and with a smile great hot sauce and great coleslaw as well

Being a Catholic from Pittsburgh, I'm a sucker for a good fish fry Friday. I pass their sweet neon sign most days driving to work, so had to give them first nod for Lent! Decided on the fish chips and fries, both were great! Fish chips were hot, crunchy and flaky on the inside, pairing well with their house tartar, or just malt vinegar! Looking forward to trying the walleye or the shrimp next time. I can see how they made it 75 years; well done!
