I genuinely believe the staff would benefit from a refresher on their roles and responsibilities.
I live in the area and have been to Bar on Buena many times out of convenience.
Place has a nice atmosphere. However, this was easily offset by both the staff and food.

“THIS PLACE IS A GEM.”
THIS PLACE IS A GEM. Mac and cheese was so good, and the fries are the best. definitely stop by if hungry for some delicious bar food and a wide arrange of drinks. Cider is strong and tastey, and green boy is 10 times better than Guinness

Awesome service and great food. One of the best burgers I’ve had in Chicago so far. They do charge extra for sauces but the food was so good I didn’t mind.

A chill neighborhood spot with a great sidewalk patio with tree shade. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and a hummus platter before heading to dinner. Perfect spot for conversation, and the service was excellent!

LOVE this little neighborhood bar. Its quaint yet lively and full of locals. If you're looking for a quick beer, this is your place. If you're looking for the best burgers, this is your place. If you're looking to meet your neighbor, this is your place. Be sure to try the BOB burger and a beer from their monthly brewery on tap or from one of their other local breweries. You can't go wrong. Friendly staff and quick service tops it off.

“Great little bar with good food and tasty beer.”
Great little bar with good food and tasty beer. We stopped in on a rainy afternoon and they had a good selection of German/Austrian beers on draft. The burgers were also delicious, but pretty big. Sweet potato fries with the garlic aioli were also really good. Will have to come back on a sunny day when the windows are open to the sidewalk!

This bar surprised me a lot, because looking from the outside we have no idea how cozy it is, the decoration, the low light giving the impression of something romantic and at the same time welcoming, I loved it and I will definitely come back.

I used to live across the street and have frequented this amazing place. It has great outdoor sitting as well as indoor. I absolutely loved their whiskey collection and so many (rotating as well) beers on tap. Long back I really enjoyed their Veggie Burger. Must try their fries with its sauce. Absolutely delicious.

New resident of Buena Park and Chicago—BoB is easily the best bar in the neighborhood. Strong food menu with gourmet burgers as their highlight. Great drink prices. Attentive and easy-going bar and restaurant staff. My new favorite go-to. Update: it’s been almost exactly four years (and over 1000 views of this review!) since I first walked into BoB, and tomorrow I’m moving out of the city. Tonight I visited BoB for the last time, and it was every bit as home-like as it was when I arrived. Despite a kitchen staffing emergency, the bar staff pulled through, and were incredibly helpful and gracious. Once again, this shows just how much Bar on Buena makes this Neighborhood so special. Thank you, BoB.
