Storyville Chicago — honest bar & grill in River North. Come for the food, stay for the energy. The bartender knows what they're doing, and well-priced. Kandace Cates-Sanders: "The Bayou Margarita was smoky goodness and a must try"

“The flavors all blend together and taste fantastic”
As always I hate writing displeasing reviews; however, I would hate for my fellow consumers to be misinformed as most individuals want to use their discretionary funds appropriately in this recession..Now I did not order food, thank God, so I will only speak about the service and atmosphere..I arrived and was seated at the bar.
We did a walk in with no reservation on a Friday night. The male server gave us water but told us he was not our server .
Rating this a 1 star because of the underhanded gratuity fee that’s not disclosed.

“Best jambalaya outside of N.O.”
Best jambalaya outside of N.O. Great food, service, and drinks. Espresso Martini is not to be missed and, if you’re brave, the absinthe frappe is great too

“As a Louisianian, when traveling, every city claims to have "Louisiana flavor" food.”
As a Louisianian, when traveling, every city claims to have "Louisiana flavor" food. We celebrated my birthday at Storyville. We had a blast and the food was delicious! We ordered several different plates to get a taste of everything...and everything was well seasoned. We had: Fried Okra Gumbo Pasta Jambalaya Cajun Linguini Chicken Wings

“Stumbled on this place when looking for a last minute brunch plan and it did not disappoint.”
Stumbled on this place when looking for a last minute brunch plan and it did not disappoint! We decided to sit at bar instead of waiting for a table since we didn’t have a reservation, the staff was friendly and inviting, especially our bartender Chantel, who was really sweet and attentive. The food was so flavorful, the portion sizes were huge and everything came out hot and fresh. Planning to check out the speakeasy on my next visit!

“First time visiting Storyville and we had a great time.”
First time visiting Storyville and we had a great time. The cocktails are awesome and they are alone worth a visit. I had the Cajun Linguine with Andouille Sausage which was quite tasty. Add in LuLu's bar downstairs, which is a chill place to hang, and Storyville might be the best kept secret in River North.

“The restaurant is a whole French inspired vibe with a stamp of the Chi.”
The restaurant is a whole French inspired vibe with a stamp of the Chi! Lively ambiance with music and a speakeasy connected to the restaurant. We ordered the Cajun Arancini, which were crispy creole rice balls with chicken served with an etouffee sauce. I NEEDED more of that sauce! Super delicious and different! The Creamy Cajun Linguine with your choice of protein, the shrimp was sauté to buttery perfection. Once my steak was refired, it was AMAZING, melt in your mouth! Our entrees were FULL of authentic creole flavors! My sister red fish was flawless! The Bayou Margarita was smoky goodness and a must try! Thank you for allowing us a wonderful birthday experience & dinner in Chicago

“Impeccable service, tasty cocktails and mouthwatering food.”
Impeccable service, tasty cocktails and mouthwatering food. This was my first time at Storyville and I'm definitely adding it to my favorite restaurants in Chicago list. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. My friend had Jambalaya and we split the Bananas Foster for dessert. Everything was perfect!

“I went for brunch for the first time.”
I went for brunch for the first time. Food: I had The Seafood Skillet which was delicious! Drinks: Bottomless Mimosas and they were “Mimosa-ing!” LOL! Atmosphere: The tables are CLOSE seating especially if there are others next to you. That was the only dislike that I had. Service: I’m not sure if they are still there or not since my review is late but my server at the time was Jada and she was EVERYTHING professional, attentive and pleasant! The Bartender was Brendan and he was good! I definitely would recommend Storyville and I would return!

“I had some really great food at storyville and it being a speakeasy was the icing on the cake.”
I had some really great food at storyville and it being a speakeasy was the icing on the cake! The jambalaya was amazing and the Alfredo pasta with the steak was something to write home about. The cornbread….the beignet….. it was all a yes for me. So glad we stumbled across this place! When I come back to Chicago I’ll be paying them a visit again.

“Storyville just doesn’t miss.”
Storyville just doesn’t miss! Everytime I come here they exceed my expectations. I tried their happy hour this time we got a marg, old fashioned, beignets, and chicken po-boys. The drink were great, as always. The beignets were good though I feel like they were missing some kind of sauce? But the chicken po-boys and fries were amazing so fresh, and seasoned to perfection, we will be back !

“I came here for my sisters birthday and it was so fun.”
I came here for my sisters birthday and it was so fun! We went down to the speakeasy and had Hannah with the impeccable blonde hair and incredibly straight teeth (she makes amazing delicious drinks, between her and the product i was inspired to write this) i got the swamp king, gumbo, the fries, and beignets. I also had the bourbon street old fashioned upstairs served by someone with two small gold hoops who was absolutely gorgeous as well. Love the atmosphere and the people making it happen!
