We visited Planta Queen on 09/29/25 (order number 79) and picked up a to go order while visiting Chicago, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

A warm, intimate dinner date. The ambiance was beautiful. Soft music, dim lit, and golden decor. Server, Macy was very polite and inviting. She explained the menu well and made wonderful recommendations. The Bang Bang Broccoli was so delicious. Lightly fried and seasoned well, topped with an amazing sauce. The Crispy Rice was equally delicious, with a kick of spice, as well as being unique. Had an amazing Dragon Roll, Bak Choy, Chick'n Fried Mushrooms, Beef and Broccoli and Chilli Crab Noodles. The noodles were spicy, nutty, steaming hot ♨️. Finished off with an ice cream scooped, peanut topped brownie. Will be back for sure!

Absolutely love this place. Every dish was good and flavorful, the drinks were refreshing, the atmosphere is very upscale, the service was great. I recommend the poke bowl, bang bang broccoli, and crispy potatoes. Great place for a birthday celebration! I will be back.

Fantastic place with great vegan option with inventive meat alternatives. The ambience is lively and fun. The prices are reasonable for the portion size. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Would highly recommend for anyone who can’t try dishes which are traditionally meat forward. Reservation is recommended as it’s always full. We will back for sure!

“Everything was amazing.”

Everything was amazing! We planned to go for the late night happy hour and our server told us all the sushi was $9. What a nice treat. They recommended the eggplant nigiri, and the other photo is the volcano and firecracker roll. Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and good vibes. My friend was obsessed with the Korean chicken sandwich.

I can confirm everything that everyone else has already said; this place is great and has unbelievable complex flavors unlike most other vegan places. The winner amongst the all-star items I got today was the Eggplant nigiri. In presentation, it almost resembles squid. The texture is very soft, almost dissolving in my mouth with a complex, rich umami flavor. My husband, who is nothing close to plant-based, inhaled the GF modified mushroom udon. For those with complicated allergies, PLANTA Queen definitely takes it seriously. The server took note as to whether an allergy is severe enough that having it on the same prep area would trigger it. A note: the “GF” on the regular menu denotes items that have no gluten ingredients, but does not necessarily mean that it is truly gluten-free as a result of not having a dedicated fryer. The Celiac menu is more straightforward, with some substitutions available to menu items to make items truly GF.

“This place is killer.”

This place is killer. Great moody vibe as soon as you walk in. Not overdone or trying too hard. Wait staff know their stuff and are super helpful. And the food. Damn good. Everything I tried. Kimchi bao was the standout.

We've been here twice and the food does not disappoint. Creative dishes, beautiful plating and delicious bites. We're we're amazed at the stacked potatoes. Simple but the caviar creation was mind blowing. A new stop for us when in the city. Our first taste of Chunk steak has us wondering if it was real. Delicious food.

“I came here for my birthday.”

I came here for my birthday. Very cute restaurant. Fun music, dimly lit, and very close seating. The food was really good. The portions are made for you to share, but you could eat it all for yourself if you really wanted to. I believe our servers name was Victor and he was very polite. Also the bathrooms are very boutique looking and make for cute photos. I made a reservation so I didn’t have to wait in line.

Very upscale, yet reasonably priced vegan restaurant in the heart of River North in Chicago Downtown. Right from the very friendly hostess (Erin?) who turned out to be a fellow Candian, to the server, they both were kind to suggest recommendations after hearing that it was my first time dining there. Great service! And food? Even better! Everything I had was flavorful, comforting, appetizing, and visually appealing. The drink was great too! 10/10 overall! If you are vegan or not, I'd highly recommend this establishment for a meal, appies, or just drinks/hangout at the bar. You won't be disappointed!

“Absolutely outstanding.”

Absolutely outstanding! Perfect atmosphere for a celebratory meal. Kasey, our server, made this anniversary dinner for us extra special. Shout out for the Red Dragon Roll, which tasted divinely like the “real” thing. This is the place to bring meat eaters to convince them to be vegan 😉
