A savory/salty sauce would’ve gone better) For drinks, we had “The Quinn” and “Night At Garibaldi”… both were delicious

Great fusion food and nice vibes inside! Sweet corn agnolotti was amazing and the perfect level of spice with the cream sauce. Our waitress was also wonderful. The Parmesan raspberry cheesecake was an unexpected hit! Good options for vegetarians too

If you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in Chicago for elevated American cuisine with creative flavors and an inviting atmosphere, ILAS deserves a spot on your list. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt modern, intimate, and perfect for anything from date night to dinner with friends. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure every dish arrived perfectly timed. We started with two refreshing cocktails: the Angel’s Blush and the Golden Pomelo. Both were beautifully crafted, balanced, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The Angel’s Blush offered a light, fruity profile, while the Golden Pomelo delivered bright citrus notes that paired wonderfully with the food. For appetizers, the Crispy Pork Belly was an absolute standout. It was perfectly caramelized with a crispy exterior and incredibly tender inside, delivering rich flavor in every bite. The Pork Lumpia Egg Rolls were golden, crispy, and packed with savory filling, making them an easy crowd favorite. Moving into the mains, the Short Ribs were incredibly tender, slow-cooked to perfection, and full of deep, comforting flavor. The House Cheeseburger was another surprise highlight—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with high-quality ingredients that elevated this classic beyond expectations. The Sweet Corn Agnolotti was rich, creamy, and beautifully balanced, with sweet corn adding freshness while the handmade pasta showcased the kitchen’s attention to detail. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Between the exceptional cocktails, outstanding food, warm hospitality, and stylish atmosphere, ILAS delivers a dining experience that’s worth coming back for. If you’re searching for the best restaurants in Chicago, where to eat in Chicago, or a place that combines creative American cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and impeccable service, ILAS is a must-visit. It’s the kind of restaurant you’ll recommend after just one meal, and we can’t wait to return to explore more of the menu. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We sat at the bar and had such a lovely time — the drinks were excellent, but what really made the experience stand out was the service. Miguel took care of us and was absolutely wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. He made us feel very comfortable and added a special touch to the whole experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Criminally empty for brunch on a beautiful June Saturday morning. Good balance of flavors and options across both drinks and food menus with friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff.

First dinner in Chicago we got so lucky to pick Ila’s. Top notch customer service. Unique and wonderful cocktails. Absolutely fantastic food. We had the empanadas, scallops and gnocchi, and papperdelle and each bite just got better and better. I will recommend this to anyone we know visiting Chicago and we can’t wait to return!

We went on a quiet Sunday evening loved the vibe and overall decor gave the spot that upscale River North feel without being overwhelming. Didn’t realize Ila was Indian-owned until we got there. The cultural photos at the entrance and the overall warmth of the space make it feel personal and intentional. Being an Indian myself this added a special touch. Must order: the bread plate. The yuzu butter, goat feta, and especially the hot & spicy jam were standout. We also had the grilled scallops -solid starter. The biggest surprise of the night was the sweet corn pasta (recommended by the owner). I would never normally order this, but it ended up being the best dish we had. Slightly sweet with a subtle Indian fusion twist — very unique and memorable. Paneer kebab was well done, and the steak frites special menu was flavorful, though I wish the steak portion was slightly bigger. Service was excellent -Daniela was attentive and knowledgeable. Dessert pistachio cake was good, though not as strong as the savory dishes. Overall, great atmosphere, thoughtful fusion menu, and warm hospitality. Definitely coming back to see how the menu evolves.

ila’s is a welcoming addition to river north with a warm, inviting space. the globally inspired menu is comforting and approachable. the burrata with roasted figs and pine nut brittle was perfect and the house made focaccia is a must. pastas really shine. the sweet corn agnolotti is soft and flavorful and the pappardelle with oxtail ragù is rich and comforting. polished, thoughtful and relaxed. definitely worth a return visit.

We liked the variety it offered our group. The dishes were large enough to share, so we all order a dish and shared. It was more than enough for the 5 of us. Our waitress Daniela was fantastic!Ms Ila was kind enough to take a photo with us. Overall brunch was great. Not your typical omelette breakfast.
