Food & service 10/10. First time trying a halal deli spot and it did not disappoint! Owner was super kind and attentive about his customers & even gave us dessert to try. Everything was as expected. I would go here again.

I don't usually write reviews but the sandwiches and drinks were SO GOOD that I craved them for days after! Really delicious AND HALAL which is hard to find around here. The pastrami sub was the most delicious sub I have had ever. The amount of meat was generous and the flavor was unique to say the least. Love the addition of arugula. You won't be disappointed with Serai,

“This cafe is so good.”

This cafe is so good! I’ve been waiting to try a halal deli cafe! The chicken pesto panini was so delicious 🤤 along with the signature sub! We tried three different sandwiches, all were flavorful! The mango refresher was one of my favorites. It’s almost like a mango sparkling drink—-really went well with the food! Definitely my new fav sandwich spot in town!

Went in to check out their zabiha halal breakfast and asked Fred at the front desk for recommendations. I got the croissant with egg, cheese, and beef bacon and it did not disappoint. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the egg perfectly cooked, and the beef bacon added a savory kick that tied everything together. Everything felt fresh and energizing. Finally, a great halal breakfast option in Lincoln Park for DePaul students comforting, satisfying, and close to campus. Definitely my new go-to breakfast spot near school. 🥐

Decided to have a team dinner here after an event and we were all blown away by the quality and flavor of Serai cafe & Deli. Not only was the entire staff kind and hospitable they were incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu and were able to quickly answer any questions/ offer advice to fit our needs. The space was cute and cozy - perfect for us to recap after a busy event day and recharge our social Battery. As a team we could tell that the menu and ingredients were very intentional! It was so great to hear how all buns/ breads are locally sourced from a bakery. Produce was intentionally selected, and Meats were halal. Cant wait to revisit!

Serai surprised me with how amazing their food was! My husband got the deli sub and I got the toasted cheese and chicken sandwich and we both were absolutely floored with how delicious they were. The proportions of everything were perfect, the seasonings were exquisite, and the bread was baked just for this restaurant. So good!

This place is hands down the best cafe in town! The Serai burger with their homemade sauce and Serai signature sub is incredibly tasty. The restaurant has such a clean and serene vibe with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Don't miss their lavender mint mocktail and mango refresher- it's to die for!

All the food was amazing! Everything has a unique flavor profile and I will definitely be coming back! Mango refresher- is really good for sweet drink lovers Peach dragon - fruit refresher is fantastic if you like mildly sweet drinks! Chicken panini - the pesto hits!! Turkey panini - the most flavorful turkey cuts i’ve ever had!! Signature sub - great for meat lovers, packed with protein! Serai Burger - the buns are heavenly! The sauce complements it Fully halal, they also have vegetarian options!

One of the best cafes in town. The food is so delicious, and the service is truly outstanding. The owner was incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the signature sub and the turkey panini, easily among the best I’ve had. Overall an excellent, clean, and enjoyable dining experience that I would strongly recommend to anyone. The peach dragonfruit mocktail was also amazing!

If you’re craving a real burger, Serai Cafe & Deli delivers. The special bun is soft but sturdy, the beef is flavorful, and the Serai sauces give it a unique, crave-worthy taste. I’ll definitely be back for another.
