Takie Outit — chinese in Ukrainian Village. The kind of place your parents probably knew about too. "Perfectly cooked, brightly colored fresh vegetables, tender beef, chicken, and pork" — Mary Pence

Yummy food. I got takeout. Generous portions and yummy.
Great food, i love Chinese food as much as my health. Please go easy on Oil.
Listen, when I first came here, I was a little scared of the painted fake windows with a tropical view on the wall, and the insane fluorescent lighting to remind you of taking your SATs, but I assure you it is all of those qualities that make Takie Outit now my favorite Chinese spot.
Takei outit was the right choise for my this Sunday lunch, it was a welcome experience.
Delivery food was bland, cold, and mushy.
Spring rolls were yummy however my mom ordered chicken and it was quite unfortunately that classic, low quality balls of fried dough with a hint of dark meat inside, not even white meat.
Ordered some General Tsos, Mapo Tofu, and an egg roll.

Great spot! All the classics, as good as ever. And great staff to go with it. Highly recommend the string beans dish and salt & pepper fish or tofu. Also the Kung Po chicken and the Mapo tofu and the egg rolls are super hearty.

“Always a wonderful experience at this restaurant.”
Always a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I love the Mongolian beef and the orange chicken. I just tried the beef fried rice spicy and it was gone in 10 minutes. They also have spicy popcorn chicken and smoothies. Small inside but big on flavor.

“Food is good and fairly priced.”
Food is good and fairly priced. We got food on Too Good to Go and liked it so much that we order from them monthly! Chicken looks sus sometimes, but I haven’t gotten sick yet lol!

Update: Originally, we were not impressed by the food here. We took up the owner on his offer to try his restaurant again, and we were pleasantly surprised. We tried Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken with vegetable rice and combination (with protein) rice. Both dishes were very good and were delicious. The rice was fluffy and not greasy, and was also tasty. Overall, a great healthy choice for Chinese food in Ukrainian Village.

UPDATE: We don't often get a chance to eat our words, but today we are happy we did. Nathan, the owner, invited us to try some of their more popular dishes, instead of the rather mild tasting choices we tried previously. Everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked, brightly colored fresh vegetables, tender beef, chicken, and pork. We had Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, a combination fried rice, which was fluffy and loaded, and a vegetable fried rice that was exceptionally good. None of the dishes were oily, and all were big enough to share. If you can imagine healthy Chinese cooking, this is where you'll find it. Nothing came out of a can. Even the vegetables were meticulously chopped to an appropriate size so you didn't have to try and shove half a green pepper in your mouth. We are looking forward to trying their fresh dumplings, wonton-noodle soup, and Pad Thai. Everything they make is from scratch, so if you want your dish seasoned a certain way, they will happily oblige.

“Ordered take-out.”
Ordered take-out. Food was actually delicious, but we found a piece of metal in the eggplant dish we ordered--large and sharp enough to be dangerous if accidentally swallowed (see photo, placed next to quarter for scale). When I called the restaurant to inform someone, the response I received was "I'm not sure what we can do about that. We'll try to be more careful next time." Not a good look

Listen, when I first came here, I was a little scared of the painted fake windows with a tropical view on the wall, and the insane fluorescent lighting to remind you of taking your SATs, but I assure you it is all of those qualities that make Takie Outit now my favorite Chinese spot. Dining in is a glorious experience. Everyone is super accommodating and really appropriate with their service. This is an introvert’s ideal restaurant tbh. You can order at a kiosk (optional), sit down at a table, they give you your food, and then check in once you’re done with your meal so you don’t have to awkwardly smile and nod with your mouth full of food in front of a waiter who is obviously kissing for tips. Fantastic i love it. The painted windows? Honestly now I look at it and feel like I’m in Bali or Jamaica eating Chinese food by the water. The fluorescent lighting? Come on, what Asian restaurant actually serves good food when they have mood lighting? Name one, i bet you cant. I have learned after all these years that if my Chinese spot has cool-toned lighting through one big light in the ceiling, the food is going to HIT. Anyways, I recommend the Cantonese Style Chow Mein, Chicken or pork fried rice, and Pepper Steak. The crab rangoons and egg roll? also amazing. Smoothies are pretty solid too. Wash it all down with a banana smoothie, and see life all bright eyed like a child again. I love you Takie Outit.

Takei outit was the right choise for my this Sunday lunch, it was a welcome experience. I had not been there in four years. But I was a regular customer for 6 years when I lived at Ukrainian Village. I had a Kong Pao beef and I requested sub noddles for rice. But there was an up charge of 4 dollars for the substitution. I got a little disappointed but I pay for it. The noddles were sautéed with vegetables. Separately from de meat. The look and tasted amazing. The Kong Pao was flavorful and well served. The plate presentation was like I was in a fancy Chinese restaurant. The customer service was polite and attentive. I ended paying 14 dollars instead of 10 dollars for the substitution of noddles but it was still a bargain compared to other Chinese fast food restaurants I’ve been to. Definitely I will comeback to try something else.

“Been going to this place for almost 3 years now.”
Been going to this place for almost 3 years now. The location is key since I live really close but the food, speed, quality of service, pricing, and portions are phenomenal! 10/10 would recommend. Don’t let the curb appeal push you away. Give a shot and by blown away!
