“Athenian Room is amazing. Owners Alex and Vasily and manager Marci and Matti and Alethea and Sarah and Karen are very nice. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. I like how attentive the staff is and how nice the atmosphere is. Cash only and ATM next door. The skirt steak literally melted in my mouth! Amazing gyros and Greek chicken and fries. Must come back. 10/10. “Finally got to stop in here for dinner. It was a long wait time on a Friday night, but was well worth it! Cash only and you can grab drinks at the connected bar. Casual dining room, servers were friendly and everything came out quick. Personal favorite items were the euro dinner and baklava!”

The avgolemono seasonal soup was next level… rich, comforting, and exactly what you want on a Chicago day. For the main, I had the Kalamata chicken with a side salad—juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can tell everything is made with care and consistency. And you cannot leave without the baklava. Sweet, flaky, and the perfect finish to the meal. Old-school vibe, no frills, just really, really good food. Also—cash only, so come prepared. Definitely one of those spots you keep coming back to.”

Tender and juicy, the meat along with the fries are perfectly smothered in a zesty, herbaceous, lemony sauce. Just perfection all around. An absolute lovely time here. Quality food. “Amazing food. This is personally one of my favorite places. I travel all over and this place stays consistent. It’s my first stop always when arriving in Chicago. It is the best food I ever had in my life. There is no better and there is no changing my mind. I highly recommend coming here. You have to get the wine steak the half chicken the Gyro and feta burger”

“3.5/5 Decent place for cheap eats and friends gathering, but seasoning was off, the sauce for the steak and chicken was way too salty, it’s not too bad if you pair it with the proteins, but the fries were soaked in it too and then it became a disaster. I liked the gyro tho! Skirt steak was cooked well too.”
