Savanna Breakfast & Lunch Lakeview — among the best american in Lakeview. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. Inventive menu that rewards the curious, and BYOB. Nicole H: "The French toast was perfectly cooked and all of the fruit was extremely fresh"

“The other plate at the table was a turkey omelet and the bite I had was delicious”
Food was… fine, if you enjoy your breakfast with the temperature and enthusiasm of a Monday morning staff meeting.
So confused about all the decent reviews.

“Visiting my son in Chicago, wanted something close by for breakfast after church.”
Visiting my son in Chicago, wanted something close by for breakfast after church. Found this place, and liked it so much we went back the next day too! Service was fast, and the food was phenomenal. I had a special, peach berry French toast, it was so good! Husband had a fajita skillet, what an amazing combination of flavors! With a side of the best tasting chicken sausage I have ever had. Ordered crepes the next day, son had chicken and waffles. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.

“This place is a gem.”
This place is a gem! I had the Trio Benedict which comes with (1) Llapingacho with chorizo, (2) Carnitas, and (3) Smoked Salmon. My wife had the Chilaquiles. The Trio was exquisite! Such a fun and eclectic mix of tastes! My wife loved her Chilaquiles with the green sauce (which is not too spicy; I would give it a 1 out of 10 on the spice meter, but she would give it a 4 out of 10). She was happy she went with the tangy green sauce. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We dined as a family of four- 5 and 10 years old in a comfortable booth near the window. There is a kids menu with breakfast and lunch items. My son was crabby upon arrival and the team were so nice and did there best to cheer him up. He left a happy boy! Must get items- Llapingachos! We got this as an appetizer to share. They are delicious potato cakes with 2 per appetizer but you could cut and share. Try them!! I didn't get it but the llapingacho Benedict is next on my list because these were so good. Carrot juice- I love carrot juice and they squeeze it fresh here. Elotes with carnitas The menu is so big with plenty of sweet breakfast/ brunch options and Latin fare. The space is cute, well lit with lots of seating but a popular brunch spot. Recommend visiting on a weekday or early!

“We went on a Sunday during brunch time and the place was pretty full and busy.”
We went on a Sunday during brunch time and the place was pretty full and busy. We were seated very quickly and our food was very quick as well. All of the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the chilaquiles as they were definitely the star of our visit. The French toast was perfectly cooked and all of the fruit was extremely fresh. The BLT was really tasty as well. I would definitely return here. Parking is not great but probably doable but I would recommend taking CTA if walking is not an option.

Savanna in Lakeview is my new go-to brunch spot—it's got that cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. I ordered the Llapingacho Benedict, which was a delicious twist on eggs benedict with Ecuadorian potato cakes, grilled tomatoes, pork chorizo, poached eggs, and chipotle hollandaise. It came with a side of house potatoes, and the whole meal was around $16. To drink, I had the Cucumber Booster juice, a refreshing blend of mango, cucumber, pineapple, and chia seeds. The staff was super friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. If you're in the area and looking for a unique and satisfying brunch, Savanna is definitely worth a visit.

Loved it! First time in and will be back soon. Went for brunch and had the turkey chorizo skillet with a pancake on the side. Both were excellent. Lively atmosphere and, despite being busy, the service was quick!

Got the chorizo eggs Benedict which came over a cooked potato coin, chorizo loaded on top, tomato and and eggs poached to perfection. It was the perfect warm meal on a cold day in Chicago. Came with a side and unfortunately I chose more potatoes making it a potato galore. Nevertheless the place is very cozy with warm and friendly staff.

The veggie skillet with zucchini, spinach, red peppers, house potatoes, topped with avocado, and served with grain bread, was a great vegetarian option. My family opted for the chicken tinga Benedict and the bagelwich with a side of fresh fruit a big thumbs up on freshness and flavor! The restaurant features a spacious indoor area and a large outdoor seating section, providing a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall a recommended spot for those seeking a flavorful and fresh brunch experience in the Lakeview area.
