La Lunita — a quiet mexican spot in Logan Square with a growing reputation. Candlelit and unhurried, ideal for a slow dinner. Good cocktails round out an already strong menu.

“La Lunita is first of all, gorgeous inside”
I came here on a Saturday night around 7:30pm without a reservation and there were 2 of us. We were able to be sat.
The waiter said the steak was on special.
The portions are a bit limited, the service is around 5/10.

“This restaurant is a gem.”
This restaurant is a gem. Perfect amount of flavor and spice. Tables are too close together but the food makes up for it. Will be back

“Beautiful space, excellent food and great service.”
Beautiful space, excellent food and great service. The menu is varied but I would recommend trying the salsas. We tried the macha and it was very unique. The cocktails were fun too and the tres leches was delicious. They had vegan tacos al pastor which enjoyed as well as other vg options.

“La Lunita is first of all, gorgeous inside.”
La Lunita is first of all, gorgeous inside. They have a record player, super comfy bar seats with a back, and a well lit back bar stocked with the essentials - tequila and mezcal. The bartenders made me their take on a mezcal negroni which had a little spice to it (like a slow burn, not like a jalapeno). It was so good! For food, everything was great; this restaurant is a pescatarians dream. I ordered the tuna tartare, scallops, and fish tacos. All had complex flavors with great depth and subtle heat. I’ll be back soon for Vino and Vinyl wine nights!

The food is vibrant, spicy, delectable with a modern, hip atmosphere (that I'm unable to enjoy to the fullest in my ripe old age of 37 years. The noise is extremely lively on a Friday night. Try an off night for a first date...). There wasn't a dish we tried that I didn't enjoy. The leche de tigre on the crudo is crack. Cocktails are well balanced. Mexican wines are interesting. Service is friendly. I'll be back.

“My husband and I went to La Lunita earlier this month and had such an amazing meal.”
My husband and I went to La Lunita earlier this month and had such an amazing meal. The service was friendly and attentive, which honestly made us order more than we originally planned—but it worked out for the best because everything we tried was delicious. We started with the yellow fin tuna crudo, esquites, and the grilled oysters. The tuna was so fresh, and the esquites packed with flavor, I usually don’t even like oysters, but these were hands down the best I’ve ever had—the seasoning and spice set the bar so high. For our main, we shared the bone-in New York steak with a side of broccolini. Both were cooked perfectly, and the sauces really took everything to the next level. We also enjoyed a few cocktails throughout the night, each one unique and delicious. We finished with the Tres Leches Pastel de Mango with ube ice cream, which was surprisingly light and the perfect sweet ending to such a big meal. La Lunita delivered on all fronts—food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. 10/10 recommend, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

We happened upon this place by chance & were delighted with the experience. We started with the guacamole & fresh chips and were amazed with the presentation. The octopus was cooked to perfection, and the highlight for us was the prawns - just the right amount of spiciness and the sauce truly made the dish. All in all, it was quite delectable - an experience we would love to repeat again.

A restaurant cancelled on us an hour before our reservation, so we googled and found La Lunita as a last minute backup plan and we were very fortunate that it was only a few weeks old and had plenty of availability (which I doubt will be a thing in the near future). The cocktails were so thoughtfully constructed, well balanced, and just incredibly enjoyable. The food.. wow. The NY strip melted in our mouths, the guac was incredible, and the esquites (not pictured because we accidentally demolished it before we could snap a pic) were out of this world. The only minor gripe we had was with the chips for the guac and esquites, which were not quite to our liking (texture and flavor wise), but that’s a very minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. We will absolutely be back.

“Overall, a really wonderful addition to the neighborhood.”
Overall, a really wonderful addition to the neighborhood. It's good they have specials and happy hour because the price point is pretty high. But the food is excellent quality and really beautifully done. Great space, wonderful staff. The steak taco special was extraordinary tasty. The broccolini, guacamole, and prawns were truly so so flavorful and delightful. The only thing we didn't like was the aguachile negro which we thought really lacked depth in flavor, especially compared to everything else we were served. It was pretty bland. Cocktails were solid, and they have an interesting wine list as well. I'll definitely be back again and look forward to trying more of the menu.
