Kimchi Pop by Chef Son — honest korean in Noble Square. The decor hasn't changed, and it doesn't need to. No shortcuts. You can taste the intention. Good for vegetarians, BYOB.

“The sundubu comes with a raw egg that you can break into your bowl, it’s good but I might prefer them to do it for me”

“My teen invited to take me out for dinner.”
My teen invited to take me out for dinner. We choose this spot. We ordered the Ddeokbokki, the Bibimbap, Veggie Dumplings, House Kimbap and It was so delicious 😋 I definitely would recommend. As a first timer to Kimchi Bop it was a great experience. Definitely going back again.

“Here’s a more neutral, toned-down version: The food was good and satisfied our korean food cravings.”
Here’s a more neutral, toned-down version: The food was good and satisfied our korean food cravings. Decent portions and reasonable prices compared to other nearby Korean restaurants. The atmosphere is cozy, and the self-serve banchan, water, and utensil drawer is a nice touch that reminded us of some of the mom-and-pop spots we visited in Korea.

As someone whose been to Seoul many times and dating a korean we ate here while visiting chicago. They have a large selection of authentic dishes the vibe is very korean free side dishes, silverware on the side of the table and they even have an automatic ramen cooker. Food was great my girlfriend loved the Kimchi stew and daid it was quite authentic.

“Awesome Korean spot with great, fresh flavor in all the dishes and a cozy atmosphere to stop in for quick but good food.”
Awesome Korean spot with great, fresh flavor in all the dishes and a cozy atmosphere to stop in for quick but good food. Self-serve banchan is nice too. I have gotten the stone pot bibimbap multiple times and it is great comfort food, especially when you get the crispy rice at the bottom. The gojuchang sauce makes it as well.

“Small BYOB Korean restaurant we’ve been wanting to try for a while.”
Small BYOB Korean restaurant we’ve been wanting to try for a while. The food was really good - especially dumplings and meat, everything came out quickly from the kitchen. They have several condiments like kimchi, fermented sprouts, potatoes and radish in the middle and you decide on quantity. The menu is not huge but still have lots of variety. All the dishes had great flavors and tasted authentic.

“Delicious BYOB Korean food.”
Delicious BYOB Korean food! We got ddeokbokki, beef kimbap, and Korean fried chicken. Kimbap was super fresh, special kpop chicken crisp, ddeokbokki succulent (for lack of a better word). Loved their banchan bar also. Will definitely be back!

“The Kimchi Jji-Gae (they call it Kimchi stew) is so good.”
The Kimchi Jji-Gae (they call it Kimchi stew) is so good! It's very spicy, which we liked. And it has great flavor. We also got the Korean dumplings and the Dduck Bok Gi. They were okay, but I recommend the Kimchi Stew! And the Ban chan selection is small but at least it tastes good. It's self serve ban chan. The cashier checked in on us and gave us Choco pies when we finished our food. Overall nice place!
