Atelier|Overall ⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ☆ (4/5) Savory ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ ☆ The savory courses leaned heavily into unusual spices and house-made elements, which was genuinely interesting. All five appetizers were designed to be palate-opening—things like pickled bamboo shoots and house-made pickles stood out as creative and thoughtful. The main savory course was a Dominiya beef rice dish. The bread served with it was very good and well-executed. That said, across the savory portion of the menu, seasoning consistently leaned too salty, which ultimately overwhelmed the flavors for me. Dessert ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ The main dessert was genuinely good—fresh, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. It was the highlight of the meal and showed a level of restraint that I wish had carried through more of the savory courses.

From checking in to checking out this was an excellent tasting. We mostly had a vegetarian tasting with one fish option (for me). All the dishes were wonderful and flavored very well. We did not do a pairing because had ordered a bottle of their orange wine which actually paired well with most of the food (the sommelier helped us choose).

I can't say much more than Absolutely Amazing. The food was delicious and left me wanting more. There were a few dishes that made me question if I was eating what was described to me - in a good way. The staff were all so helpful and pleasant. They took care to explain everything, answer any questions we had, and to joke around with us and just overall have fun. The space is not huge which makes everything feel super intimate. The kitchen is open and you can see everyone working diligently but also enjoying themselves. I heard and saw more than one of the people behind the line tast something and state how good it was or how much they liked it. Will absolutely be back.

Magical, joyous and friendly with spectacular food that threads the needle perfectly between deeply satisfying and cutting edge (and edgy!) and delivers both in a way that lets you know you have landed in a very special place! It was our anniversary and they accommodated a last minute time change due to our arrival flight being much delayed. Thank you one and all!

Nestled in Chicago, Atelier offers a truly unique culinary journey. The exceptionally skilled team provides impeccable service, while the intimate dining space fosters a sense of privileged access, placing you at the heart of the kitchen's creative process. This is more than a meal; it's an immersive experience, and a resounding recommendation feels insufficient.

Loved everything about our experience at Atelier! The food was incredible- creative, fresh, and bold. Somm wine tastings were perfect complements to the dishes and exposed me to wines I wouldn’t normally try. Hospitality was top notch!

This is the first restaurant that I’ve tried during my first trip to Chicago. It was beyond my expectations. The restaurant was located at an inconspicuous location. Who would’ve ever knew that there was a Michelin restaurant there. There was nothing to complain about the service. Our tasting menu consisted of a Miso Soup, which according to the kitchen is the first day they were serving it and we happened to be the first guests to taste it. It was waaay too salty and they did not hesitate to remake the soup for us (it was perfect the second time around - because of this they also gave us extra drinks on the house 😊). The food was delicious each dish was very different and memorable and creative. The portion sizes were great! We were all so full by the time we finished all our courses. The server told us that the menu changes every 5-6 days so there’s different dishes all the time. We did think all our dishes were Asian inspired so I’m very excited to come back and try other dishes they have to present.

Absolutely AMAZING experience! I have never felt more at home somewhere than when we sat down for dinner. Our servers were so knowledgeable and so kind. And of course the food was outstanding. One of my favorite tasting menus. I just loved everything about it. I can't wait to come back again!!

Great experience for a more local feeling tasting menu in Chicago. One of the more intimate dining rooms I've experienced that produces food of this caliber. We were lucky enough to be seated directly next to the kitchen which was a treat to watch all the food prep. Food overall was excellent and loved the focus not just on seasonal ingredients but also matching the dishes to the time of year. For the end of November a thanksgiving pasta (turkey confit, cranberry sauce, stuffing crumbles) and a number of pickled items along with a few courses featuring venison. Look forward to returning and experiencing a different menu!
